Arresto di Leonardo Bertulazzi, la nota di Palazzo Chigi
Il Presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, esprime profondo apprezzamento alle Autorità argentine per aver eseguito l’arresto di Leonardo Bertulazzi, già condannato in Italia a 27 anni di carcere per reati di terrorismo, a seguito della revoca dello status di rifugiato da parte della Commissione per i Rifugiati argentina.

Statement by Palazzo Chigi on the arrest of Leonardo Bertulazzi
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, conveys her deep appreciation to the Argentine authorities for the arrest of Leonardo Bertulazzi, who had previously been sentenced in Italy to 27 years in prison for terrorist offences. The arrest came after his refugee status was revoked by the Argentinian Commission for Refugees.

Il Presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, ha ricevuto oggi a Palazzo Chigi il Sindaco di Amatrice, Giorgio Cortellesi. Nel corso dell'incontro, a pochi giorni dall’ottavo anniversario del terremoto del Centro Italia, il Presidente Meloni ha rinnovato al primo cittadino l'impegno del Governo per completare la ricostruzione e per restituire sicurezza e sviluppo ai territori colpiti dal sisma.

President Meloni meets with the Mayor of Amatrice at Palazzo Chigi
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, received the Mayor of Amatrice, Giorgio Cortellesi, at Palazzo Chigi today. During the meeting, just a few days after the eighth anniversary of the quake that hit central Italy, President Meloni confirmed to Mayor Cortellesi that the Government is committed to completing reconstruction work and restoring safety and development to the earthquake-affected areas.

Otto anni fa il catastrofico terremoto che ha devastato il Centro Italia. La terribile scossa delle 3.36, fissata nella mente di ognuno di noi dall’orologio fermo della Torre Civica di Amatrice, ha innescato una sequenza sismica che ha dispiegato i suoi effetti distruttivi per diversi mesi a seguire e ha coinvolto un territorio molto vasto della nostra Nazione.

Eight years ago, a catastrophic earthquake devastated central Italy.That terrible quake hit at 3.36am, as we are all reminded by the stopped clock on the municipal tower of Amatrice, triggering a series of seismic events whose destructive effects were felt for several months after, involving an extremely vast area of our nation.

Apprendo con dolore dell'improvvisa scomparsa del Garante delle persone detenute Felice Maurizio D'Ettore, di cui tutti abbiamo apprezzato la dedizione e la professionalità, in particolare in un momento così difficile per il mondo penitenziario. Sono sinceramente vicina, anche a nome dell'intero Governo, ai suoi familiari, che abbraccio nel ricordo di un uomo onesto e generoso.

President Meloni’s condolences on the passing of National Guarantor for detainees
I was saddened to learn of the sudden passing of the National Guarantor for the Rights of Persons Deprived of Personal Liberty, Felice Maurizio D'Ettore. We all appreciated his dedication and professionalism, particularly at such a difficult time for the prison system. Also on behalf of the entire Government, I extend sincere sympathy to his family; our thoughts are with them as we remember such an honest and generous man.

Memoria, rinascita, giustizia.
Sono trascorsi sei anni dalla catastrofe del crollo del Ponte Morandi, che il 14 agosto 2018 ha sconvolto Genova, la Liguria e la Nazione intera.
Oggi onoriamo le 43 vittime di quella tragedia e ci stringiamo, con la mente e con il cuore, ai loro famigliari e ai loro cari.
Oggi ci sentiamo un po' tutti genovesi, figli di una città fiera e orgogliosa che è stata moralmente piegata e fisicamente spezzata in due, ma che da allora ha saputo anche rialzarsi e andare avanti...

Remembrance, rebirth, justice.
Six years have passed since the Morandi Bridge collapsed on 14 August 2018, a catastrophe that shook Genoa, Liguria and the entire nation.
Today, we pay tribute to the 43 victims of that tragedy, and our hearts and minds go out to their families and loved ones.
Today we all feel somewhat like we are from Genoa too, sons and daughters of such a proud city that was left emotionally distressed and physically split in two, but has also since been able to pick itself up and move forward....
