President Meloni in Algeria
Today, during her trip to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni visited the garden dedicated to Enrico Mattei and the ‘Bastion 23’ fortress-museum, before meeting with the President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Yesterday, President Meloni met with Prime Minister Aïmen Benabderrahmane, laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument and greeted the crew of the Italian Navy ship ‘Carabiniere’, docked in the port of Algiers.

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, visited the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria on 22 and 23 January. During the visit, President Meloni and the President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, issued statements to the press following the agreement signing ceremony. President Meloni later addressed journalists at a doorstep.
During the first day of her trip, President Meloni greeted the crew of the Italian Navy ship ‘Carabiniere’, docked in the port of Algiers.

Nota di Palazzo Chigi
Dopo le notizie infondate circa le presunte divisioni tra il Presidente del Consiglio e il ministro Giorgetti, tra il Presidente del Consiglio e il ministro Piantedosi, oggi è la volta del ministro Nordio. Spiace deludere, ma il clima nel Cdm è ottimo e tutti i ministri lavorano in piena sinergia con Palazzo Chigi.
Nello specifico, il presidente Meloni ribadisce la sua piena fiducia nel Guardasigilli, che ha fortemente voluto a Via Arenula e con il quale mantiene contatti quotidiani.
In questo quadro, il presidente Meloni e il ministro Nordio si incontreranno in settimana per definire il cronoprogramma delle iniziative necessarie a migliorare lo stato della giustizia italiana.
Il Governo è determinato, infatti, a portare avanti e ad attuare il programma di coalizione votato dai cittadini per dare all'Italia una giustizia giusta, veloce e vicina a cittadini e imprese.

Statement by Palazzo Chigi
After the unfounded reports of alleged divisions between the President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Economy and Finance Giorgetti and between the President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of the Interior Piantedosi, it is now the turn of Minister of Justice Nordio. Contrary to these reports, the atmosphere in the Council of Ministers is excellent and all ministers work in full synergy with Palazzo Chigi.
More specifically, President Meloni reaffirms her full confidence in the Minister of Justice; she was strongly in favour of him holding this position and the two are in daily contact.
In this context, President Meloni and Minister Nordio will meet this week to define a timeline for the initiatives needed to improve the Italian justice system.
The Government is in fact determined to progress with and implement the coalition programme that citizens voted for, in order to provide Italy with a fair and fast justice system that is close to citizens and businesses.

É stato pubblicato sulla Gazzetta Ufficiale il decreto-legge 14 gennaio 2023, n. 5 "Disposizioni urgenti in materia di trasparenza dei prezzi dei carburanti e di rafforzamento dei poteri di controllo del Garante per la sorveglianza dei prezzi, nonche' di sostegno per la fruizione del trasporto pubblico".

President Meloni’s statement on the Council of Ministers’ ‘Pact for senior citizens’
With the draft law approved today by the Council of Ministers, the Government has signed a ‘Pact for senior citizens’, laying the foundations for the comprehensive reform of policies in support of the elderly and against their marginalisation. Many healthcare, social, welfare and relational measures will be put in place, with the aim of providing the elderly with comprehensive care and meeting all their needs and requirements.
