I am very pleased with Parliament’s final approval of the tax reform enabling law. This structural and comprehensive reform, which Italy has been waiting for for fifty years, embodies a clear vision of development and growth. Less taxes on households and businesses, a fairer and more equitable tax system, higher take-home pay, and lower taxes for those who hire and invest in Italy, as well as simpler and faster procedures. These are some of the principles of this historic measure that will revolutionise the relationship between the tax system and citizens and businesses. The Government will work to concretely put the reform into action through implementing decrees. This was a commitment we made with citizens and, today, we have delivered on it, in the interest of Italy.

EUR 32.4 billion in resources from the ‘Development and Cohesion Fund’ (‘Fondo Sviluppo e Coesione’, ‘FSC’) will go to Italy’s Regions and Autonomous Provinces for the 2021-27 programming period, as per the resolution passed today by CIPESS (Interministerial Committee for Economic Planning and Sustainable Development) based on the proposal by the Minister for European Affairs, Southern Italy, Cohesion Policy and the NRRP, Raffaele Fitto.

The fourth joint meeting of the institutional working group and the coordination committee for the Jubilee of 2025 was held today at Palazzo Chigi, chaired by Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Alfredo Mantovano. The meeting looked at the progress of ongoing works projects, implementing the measures agreed with the second DPCM [Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers] signed on 8 June.
