President Meloni’s statement on International Monetary Fund revising GDP estimates for Italy upwards

The International Monetary Fund revising its GDP estimates for Italy upwards confirms the effectiveness of the Government’s economic policy and spurs us on to continue along this path and do even better. In 2023, Italy will grow more than Germany and France and more than the eurozone average.

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, received the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, at Palazzo Chigi today. The meeting focused on the strengthening of the bilateral relationship, particularly with regard to migration management, facilitating regular flows and countering the criminal activities of traffickers.

President Meloni at the United Nations Food Systems Summit

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, delivered a speech today at the opening ceremony of the United Nations Food Systems Summit, being held at the FAO Headquarters in Rome.
Before the Summit got underway, President Meloni met with the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, Rigathi Gachagua, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Djibouti, Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed, and the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed Ali.

Statement by Palazzo Chigi on ITA Rome-Tripoli direct flight

An ITA direct flight between Rome and Tripoli reopened this route over Libyan skies today, after a ten-year suspension. The flight, which also had Prime Minister Dabaiba on board, was a prelude to the new commercial route that will be opened this autumn. Following the International Conference on Development and Migration, this is another tangible sign of the direction the Italian Government wants relations with Libya and with States in the wider Mediterranean to move in.

Volo diretto ITA Roma-Tripoli, nota di Palazzo Chigi

Oggi un volo diretto ITA Roma-Tripoli ha riaperto la rotta dei cieli libici dopo dieci anni di interruzione. Il volo, con a bordo il primo ministro Dbeibeh, è il preludio dell’avvio di una nuova rotta commerciale a partire dal prossimo autunno. Dopo la Conferenza internazionale su Sviluppo e Migrazioni, è un altro segno tangibile della direzione che il governo italiano vuole imprimere nelle relazioni con la Libia e nei rapporti con gli Stati del Mediterraneo allargato.

Questa mattina il Sottosegretario alla Presidenza del Consiglio Alfredo Mantovano ha incontrato una delegazione della Chiesa siro cattolica, composta da Mons. Jacques Mourad, Arcivescovo di Homs dei Siri, Mons. Denis Antoine Chahda, Arcivescovo siro cattolico di Aleppo, e Mons. Rami Al-Kabalan, Vescovo di Aretusa dei Siri. L’incontro è stato voluto fortemente da Aiuto alla Chiesa che Soffre (ACS Italia), rappresentata dalla Presidente Sandra Sarti e dal Direttore Alessandro Monteduro.

International Conference on Development and Migration in Rome. Commitments and shared solutions for the Mediterranean and Africa

At the initiative of the Italian Government, the leaders of almost all states on the southern shore of the wider Mediterranean, in the Middle East and the Gulf, as well as EU Member States of first arrival and a number of partners from the Sahel and the Horn of Africa, together with the heads of European institutions and international financial institutions, met at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Rome today, to address emergencies and launch a shared development strategy. Following the working sessions, President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni held a press conference.
