Middle East: meeting held at Palazzo Chigi
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, chaired a meeting at Palazzo Chigi today with Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani, Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi, Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio, Undersecretary of State to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Alfredo Mantovano and heads of the intelligence service.

I am deeply saddened by what has happened at Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza. Italy expresses its deep condolences for the victims and its sympathy for their families and the injured.
Awaiting definitive confirmation regarding the dynamics of the events, we once again renew our commitment to protect the civilian population, solve the most urgent humanitarian problems, and ensure a rapid resolution of this crisis.

Sono profondamente addolorata da ciò che è accaduto all'ospedale Al Ahli Arab di Gaza. L'Italia esprime il suo profondo cordoglio per le vittime e la sua vicinanza ai famigliari e ai feriti.

President Meloni meets with Patriarch of Antioch for Maronites
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met with His Beatitude Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rai, Patriarch of Antioch for Maronites, at Palazzo Chigi today. The meeting, which was also attended by Undersecretary of State Alfredo Mantovano and representatives from the ‘Aiuto alla Chiesa che Soffre’ foundation, focused on the current crisis in the Middle East and the latest developments in the region, with particular reference to the situation in Lebanon. President Meloni underlined that Lebanon represents a unique model of peaceful coexistence and mutual enrichment among different religious faiths.

President Meloni’s telephone conversation with President Tebboune of Algeria
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, continues to keep in close contact with the Heads of State and Government of allied nations and of the countries most affected by the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.
In particular, President Meloni had a very cordial telephone conversation today with the President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
