Il governo italiano è indignato di fronte alla condanna a morte di Mohsen Shekari, giovane che si era unito alle manifestazioni per la libertà in Iran. Questa inaccettabile repressione da parte delle autorità iraniane non può lasciare indifferente la comunità internazionale, e non potrà fermare la richiesta di vita e libertà che viene dalle donne e dai giovani iraniani.

Infrastruttura d’interconnessione tra Italia e Tunisia, la nota del Presidente Meloni
Il via libera della Commissione Europea allo stanziamento di 307 milioni di euro per co-finanziare l’infrastruttura d’interconnessione tra Italia e Tunisia è un grande successo Italiano.
È una data storica perché l’Unione Europea ha dato l’ok ad un progetto che vede coinvolto uno Stato Membro con uno Stato Terzo.
L’opera, un elettrodotto sottomarino di circa 200 km, sarà realizzata da TERNA e dalla corrispondente società tunisina STEG e costituirà un nuovo corridoio energetico tra Africa ed Europa, favorendo la sicurezza dell’approvvigionamento energetico e l’incremento di produzione di energia da fonti rinnovabili. È nel destino dell’Italia diventare un nuovo hub energetico per l’intero Continente europeo, è nella nostra missione intensificare la cooperazione con l’Africa per portare investimenti e sviluppo.

President Meloni’s statement on Mohsen Shekari’s death sentence
The Italian Government is indignant at the death sentence of Mohsen Shekari, a young man who had joined the protests for freedom in Iran. The international community must not be indifferent to this unacceptable repression by the Iranian authorities, which will not be able to stop the demand for life and freedom coming from Iranian women and young people.

President Meloni’s statement on interconnection infrastructure between Italy and Tunisia
The European Commission’s green light for EUR 307 million in co-funding for interconnection infrastructure between Italy and Tunisia is a great success for Italy.
It is a historic day, with the European Union giving the go-ahead for a project involving a Member State with a third country: a 200km undersea power line. The project will be carried out by Italian electricity grid operator TERNA and its Tunisian counterpart STEG and will create a new energy corridor between Africa and Europe, supporting energy supply security and an increase in energy production from renewable sources. Becoming a new energy hub for the entire European continent is part of Italy’s destiny, and part of our mission is to enhance cooperation with Africa in order to bring investment and development.

Italian Committee for Bioethics appointed
“I wish to express my deep satisfaction that the Italian Committee for Bioethics has been established”, commented President Meloni. “In appointing this important body, ideal and professional pluralism criteria were taken into account, including a wide variety of members in terms of the areas they come from, their experience and their backgrounds. The rotation of Committee members has been duly guaranteed and we have ensured there is a gender balance and representatives from medical, philosophical and legal fields as well as biotechnology and religious expertise. I wish the Italian Committee for Bioethics all the best with its work”.
