G7 Summit - 13 June 2024

The Summit of the G7 Heads of State and Government chaired by the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, got underway today at Borgo Egnazia, in Italy’s Apulia Region. 
This morning, after the welcome ceremony and family photo, the working session ‘Africa, Climate Change and Development’ was held. In the early afternoon, President Meloni welcomed President Volodymyr Zelensky, who participated in the working session on Ukraine. President Meloni later co-chaired the side event on the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGII) together with President Biden of the United States. A flag ceremony and press statement by President Meloni brought the first day of the Summit to a close.
In the evening, the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, received the G7 Leaders at the Swabian Castle of Brindisi for an official dinner.
