President Meloni attends NATO Summit in Washington

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, attended the NATO Summit, which was held in Washington, D.C. from 9 to 11 July. 
Upon her arrival at Joint Base Andrews on Monday, President Meloni was welcomed by the Italian Ambassador to the United States of America, Mariangela Zappia, and the Permanent Representative of Italy to NATO, Marco Peronaci. On Tuesday, she attended the ceremony to mark the 75th anniversary of NATO.
On Wednesday, President Meloni participated in the meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of Heads of State and Government and, in the margins of the Summit, she had a bilateral meeting with the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. A reception at the White House was held on Wednesday evening.
On Thursday, President Meloni attended the working session with Indo-Pacific Partners – Australia, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea and Japan – and the European Union, followed by the meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council. She also had bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
Following the working sessions, President Meloni addressed journalists at a press point.
