Meeting with delegation from European Round Table for Industry (ERT)

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, received a delegation from the European Round Table for Industry (ERT) at Palazzo Chigi today. ERT brings together more than sixty CEOs and Chairs of Europe’s largest companies in the industrial and technological sector.

The meeting focused on the issues of European competitiveness in the current international context and on the eve of the new EU institutional cycle beginning.

Particular attention was paid to the need to strengthen and complete the single market, promote an effective simplification of administrative procedures, invest in education and training, and combine the green transition with social, employment and economic sustainability.

The ERT delegation was made up of: Jean-François van Boxmeer, Chair of ERT and Chair of Vodafone Group (United Kingdom); Ilham Kadri, Vice-Chair of ERT and CEO of Syensqo (Belgium); Zoltán Áldott, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of MOL (Hungary); Claudio Descalzi, CEO of ENI (Italy); Dimitri Papalexopoulos, Chair of TITAN Cement (Greece); Gianfelice Rocca, Chair of Techint (Italy); Jonathan Symonds, Chair of GSK (United Kingdom).
