Official visit to the People’s Republic of China

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, is on an official visit to the People’s Republic of China from 28 to 31 July.

On Sunday 28, President Meloni met with the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Li Qiang, and addressed the Italy-China Business Forum in Beijing, where she also attended the signing ceremony for agreements between Italy and China. 

On Monday 29, President Meloni delivered a speech at the launch of the exhibition ‘A journey of knowledge. The Travels of Marco Polo and its legacy between East and West’ at the Beijing World Art Museum, after which she had a meeting with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Zhao Leji. President Meloni then went on to have a meeting with the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping. On Tuesday 30, President Meloni addressed journalists at a press point in the morning and later travelled to Shanghai.
