Press conference following Council of Ministers meeting no. 52
Council of Ministers meeting no. 52 was held today at Palazzo Chigi.
Following the meeting, Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti, Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi and Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio held a press conference to illustrate the measures adopted.

President Meloni meets with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a long and cordial meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Edi Rama, at Palazzo Chigi today. The two leaders discussed the main bilateral issues, noting the excellent relations between Rome and Tirana in the political, economic, trade, cultural and social spheres.

The news reported by the ‘La Repubblica’ newspaper, in relation to which an interview with the ‘Garante per l’infanzia’ [child protection authority] has also been published, according to which the new decree to be examined during today’s Council of Ministers meeting allegedly repeals the presumption of minor age in the event of doubt, is totally unfounded. In fact, in such cases, the presumption of minor age – art. 19-bis, paragraph 8, of legislative decree no. 142 of 2015 – remains unchanged: the assessment procedure is merely sped up on an exceptional basis should there be particularly large flows, and this is conducted under the supervision of the competent judicial authority. There is therefore no provision to reverse the burden of proof regarding children’s age ...

Si è tenuta oggi, a Palazzo Chigi, una riunione tra il Governo e le confederazioni sindacali sull'ex Ilva di Taranto. Al tavolo hanno presenziato il Sottosegretario alla Presidenza del Consiglio, Alfredo Mantovano, il Ministro delle imprese e del Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, il Ministro del lavoro e delle politiche sociali, Marina Calderone, il Ministro per gli affari europei, le politiche di coesione e il PNRR, Raffaele Fitto, e i vertici nazionali di FIM - CISL, FIOM – CGIL, UILM - UIL, UGL e USB.

È priva di qualunque fondamento la notizia riportata dal quotidiano La Repubblica, in merito alla quale è stata pubblicata anche un'intervista del Garante per l'infanzia, secondo cui nel nuovo decreto oggi all’attenzione del Consiglio dei ministri verrebbe abrogata la presunzione di minore età nei casi di dubbio. In tali casi infatti la presunzione - art. 19-bis, comma 8, decr. leg.vo 142 del 2015 - resta invariata: viene soltanto eccezionalmente accelerata, in presenza di flussi particolarmente ingenti, la procedura di accertamento, effettuata sotto controllo di garanzia dell’Autorità giudiziaria competente.
