President Meloni’s statement on approval of the parliamentary bill on ‘right to be forgotten’ for cancer survivors

It is with great joy that I welcome the unanimous approval of the parliamentary bill on the ‘right to be forgotten’ for cancer survivors. The Government has strongly supported this civilised piece of legislation, which will bring an end to the humiliating and unfair discrimination against people who have recovered from oncological diseases. Thanks to all the political groups that have made it possible to achieve this goal today.

President Meloni’s statement on attack in the Philippines

Yet another attack, probably of jihadist origin, carried out during a Holy Mass on the First Sunday of Advent, cannot be ignored. The Italian Government expresses its sympathy for the Christian community in the Philippines, in particular on the island of Mindanao, and strongly denounces the brutal persecution carried out by terrorist organisations whose attacks even take the liturgical calendar into account. The international community must not remain indifferent, it must strongly condemn jihadist terrorism and support Christian minorities forced to live in fear with concrete actions.
