A meeting was held today, chaired by President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni, on the dramatic situation in Israel, which has been the target of a military and terrorist attack.
In attendance were Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani, Minister of Interior Matteo Piantedosi, Minister of Defence Guido Crosetto, Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Alfredo Mantovano, the heads of the intelligence service and Ambassador Francesco Maria Talò, President Meloni’s diplomatic advisor.
The meeting examined in depth what has happened over the last few hours, at both the diplomatic and intelligence level.
The Government is following the developments of the situation with concern, in close contact with the European institutions and allies.
Special attention is being paid to the safety of the Jewish community in the country.
