Middle East: President Meloni’s telephone conversation with the King of Jordan

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, continues to keep in close contact with key Heads of State and Government of allied nations and with the leaders of the countries most affected by the ongoing deep crisis in the Middle East region.
Earlier today, President Meloni had a telephone conversation with the King of Jordan, Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein.
During the call President Meloni reaffirmed Italy’s willingness to contribute to the region’s security and stability at this difficult time. The conversation addressed the latest developments in the ongoing crisis following the attack by Hamas against Israel. The President of the Council of Ministers called for a rapid easing of the conflict which must not spill over into the rest of the region, with Jordan playing a crucial role in this context. The two leaders stressed the importance of continuing to coordinate on developments in the crisis over the coming days.
