The twelfth meeting of the Coordination Committee for the Jubilee of 2025 was held today at Palazzo Chigi, chaired by Undersecretary of State to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Alfredo Mantovano. Attendees included President of the Lazio Region Francesco Rocca, Pro-Prefect of the Holy See's Dicastery for Evangelization Monsignor Rino Fisichella, Prefect of Rome Lamberto Giannini and President of the Chamber of Deputies Culture Commission Federico Mollicone.
Opening the meeting, Undersecretary of State Mantovano invited the Mayor of Rome and Special Commissioner for the Jubilee 2025, Roberto Gualtieri, to provide an update on the progress of works projects, underlining the importance of keeping to schedule, also in compliance with the targets set by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).
Items on the agenda included the new memorandum of understanding on legality and safety, which was signed with trade unions and employers’ associations at the end of November. In this regard, Undersecretary of State Mantovano reiterated that strict compliance with safety regulations on construction sites is a priority.
In light of the final calendar of events, with indication of those where the Holy Father is expected to be present, two areas have been chosen: the Centocelle park and the area of Tor Vergata, with capacities ranging from approximately 80 thousand to over a million people. With regard to Tor Vergata, it was noted that the local university’s rector is ready to fully cooperate so that certain areas available to the university can be used.
