President Meloni’s statement on regional autonomy draft framework law
With the approval of the draft framework law on regional autonomy, our aim is to build a more united, stronger and more cohesive Italy. The Government is beginning a process to overcome the divides that currently exist between Italy’s different areas and to ensure all citizens throughout the country have the same rights and the same service levels. Establishing essential service levels, which over these years have never been defined, guarantees cohesion and unity. This measure applies the principle of subsidiarity, giving the regions that ask for it a two-fold opportunity: to directly manage matters and resources and to provide citizens with more efficient and less costly services.

Giornata Nazionale delle vittime civili delle guerre e dei conflitti nel mondo
La legge del 25 gennaio 2017 n. 9, ha istituito la Giornata Nazionale delle vittime civili delle guerre e dei conflitti nel mondo. La giornata si celebra ogni anno il 1° febbraio, data in cui, nell’anno 1979, la normativa italiana ha riconosciuto la pari dignità di tutte le vittime dei conflitti, siano esse civili o militari. Per l’occasione, la facciata di Palazzo Chigi sarà illuminata con luce blu dalle 18:00 alle 21:00.

National day for civilian victims of wars and conflicts around the world
Law no. 9 of 25 January 2017 established Italy’s national day for civilian victims of wars and conflicts around the world, which falls every year on 1st February. On that day in 1979, Italian legislation recognised the equal dignity of all victims of conflict, whether civilian or military. To mark the occasion, Palazzo Chigi’s façade will be lit up in blue from 6pm until 9pm this evening.

Il Presidente Meloni incontra l’Alto Commissario Onu per i rifugiati, Filippo Grandi
Il Presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, ha incontrato questo pomeriggio l’Alto Commissario delle Nazioni Unite per i rifugiati, Filippo Grandi. Il Presidente Meloni ha confermato l’apprezzamento del Governo italiano per l’operato dell’Alto Commissariato in favore della protezione e del benessere dei rifugiati e ha sottolineato l’ottima collaborazione dell’UNHCR con l’Italia soprattutto in Libia e nel Sahel e nella realizzazione di corridoi umanitari.

President Meloni meets with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met this afternoon with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi. President Meloni confirmed the Italian Government’s appreciation for the UN Refugee Agency’s work for the protection and welfare of refugees, and underlined the UNHCR’s excellent cooperation with Italy, especially in Libya and the Sahel and in creating humanitarian corridors.
