Fifth joint meeting of institutional working group and coordination committee for the Jubilee 2025
The fifth joint meeting of the institutional working group and the coordination committee for the Jubilee of 2025 was held today at Palazzo Chigi, chaired by Undersecretary of State to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Alfredo Mantovano. Opening the meeting, Undersecretary of State Mantovano pointed out that the various thematic groups in charge of organising the event had continued to work throughout the month of August. The Mayor of Rome and Special Commissioner for the Jubilee 2025, Roberto Gualtieri, then took the floor and informed attendees about the progress of works projects and activities relating to hospitality services.

L’incontro ha riguardato le opportunità e i rischi dell'Intelligenza Artificiale, tema che viene affrontato in ambito multilaterale e che sarà centrale nella Presidenza del G7 che l’Italia svolgerà l’anno prossimo.

Ustica plane crash: statement by President Meloni
"Giuliano Amato’s words regarding Ustica are important and deserve attention. Former President of the Council of Ministers Amato does, however, point out that his words are the result of personal deductions. Bearing in mind that no documents concerning the DC9 tragedy are covered by state secrecy and that, over the decades, lengthy work has been carried out by the judicial authorities and parliamentary committees of enquiry, I would like to ask President Amato whether, in addition to his deductions, he is in possession of any elements that would allow for a return to the conclusions of the judiciary and of Parliament, and, if so, to make them available so that the Government may take all the necessary consequent steps”.

Ustica, la dichiarazione del Presidente Meloni
"Quelle di Giuliano Amato su Ustica sono parole importanti che meritano attenzione. Il presidente Amato precisa però che queste parole sono frutto di personali deduzioni. Premesso che nessun atto riguardante la tragedia del DC9 è coperto da segreto di Stato, e che nel corso dei decenni è stato svolto dall’autorità giudiziaria e dalle Commissioni parlamentari di inchiesta un lungo lavoro, chiedo al presidente Amato di sapere se, oltre alle deduzioni, sia in possesso di elementi che permettano di tornare sulle conclusioni della magistratura e del Parlamento, e di metterli eventualmente a disposizione, perché il governo possa compiere tutti i passi eventuali e conseguenti."

President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni attended a meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security in Caivano, in the province of Naples, today, after which she issued a statement to the press. Upon her arrival, President Meloni met with parish priest Don Maurizio Patriciello in the church of San Paolo Apostolo.

The extradition from Pakistan of Saman Abbas’s father, who is accused in Italy of savagely murdering his daughter Saman, is an important step forward in allowing justice to take its course. This is the result of the great and unwavering determination that all Italian authorities have shown in this delicate and complex case. Determination, hard work and commitment have paid off, now enabling us, together with the cooperation shown by the Pakistani authorities, to achieve this significant objective.

L'estradizione dal Pakistan del padre di Saman Abbas, imputato in Italia per il selvaggio omicidio della figlia Saman, è un passo avanti importante per consentire alla giustizia di fare il suo corso. È il frutto della grande e costante determinazione dimostrata in questo caso così delicato e complesso da tutte le Autorità italiane. Determinazione, lavoro e impegno che hanno dato frutti e che, unitamente alla collaborazione mostrata dalle autorità pakistane, ci permettono ora di ottenere questo obiettivo così significativo.
