President Meloni’s telephone conversation with President Michel
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, ahead of the extraordinary European Council meeting to be held on February 1st. In addition to the prospects for approval of the revision of the EU Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027, the main issues on the international agenda were discussed, starting with Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the crisis in the Middle East and the Red Sea.

Conversazione telefonica Meloni - Michel
Il Presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, ha avuto una conversazione telefonica con il Presidente del Consiglio Europeo, Charles Michel, in vista del Consiglio Europeo straordinario del primo febbraio. Oltre alle prospettive di approvazione della revisione del bilancio pluriennale UE 2021-27, sono stati discussi i principali temi dell'agenda internazionale, a partire dall'aggressione russa dell'Ucraina e dalla crisi in Medio Oriente e nel Mar Rosso.

Presentation of Holocaust Remembrance Day initiatives
Undersecretary of State to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Alfredo Mantovano presented the initiatives for Holocaust Remembrance Day at Palazzo Chigi today, together with the President of UCEI [Union of Italian Jewish Communities], Noemi Di Segni. The National Coordinator on Combating Anti-Semitism, Pasquale Angelosanto, was also present.

President Meloni meets with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at Palazzo Chigi today. The visit confirms the strategic value of the partnership and the excellent level of the relationship between the two Countries. The exchange of important memoranda of understanding regarding several strategic sectors of mutual interest and the adoption of a joint statement attest to the will to diversify and deepen ties in all sectors of common interest.

Il Presidente Meloni riceve Bill Gates a Palazzo Chigi
Il Presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, ha ricevuto oggi a Palazzo Chigi Bill Gates. Alla riunione, che rientra nell'ambito di una serie di incontri sul tema dell'intelligenza artificiale, ha preso parte anche Padre Paolo Benanti, Presidente della Commissione sull’Intelligenza Artificiale per l’Informazione. Nel corso dell'incontro si è discusso delle opportunità e dei rischi dell'IA e sulla necessità di governare i cambiamenti futuri, evitando così di subirli. Il colloquio ha permesso anche di ribadire la centralità dell’Africa per la Presidenza italiana G7, alla vigilia del Vertice Italia-Africa previsto il 28-29 gennaio.
