Incontro del Coordinatore nazionale Pecoraro con il suo omologo statunitense Amb. Lipstadt a Palazzo Chigi

Il 9 ottobre si è svolto un colloquio a Palazzo Chigi tra il Coordinatore nazionale per la lotta all’antisemitismo Giuseppe Pecoraro ed il suo omologo statunitense, Inviato Speciale per l’antisemitismo Amb. Deborah Lipstadt. All’incontro ha preso parte anche il Consigliere Diplomatico del Presidente del Consiglio Amb. Francesco Maria Talò.

All’incontro erano presenti diversi componenti dello Staff dell’Inviato speciale americano e dell’Ambasciata statunitense a Roma, oltre al Consigliere Lorenzo Ortona, al dott. Andrea Giovannelli e al dott. Carlo Santoro, della segreteria del Coordinatore nazionale.

Il Prefetto Pecoraro ha inteso manifestare in primo luogo all’Amb. Lipstadt la sua piena solidarietà innanzi ai tragici fatti che hanno colpito il popolo israeliano.
Entrambe i Coordinatori hanno espresso la loro più viva preoccupazione per la grave situazione che si è creata in seguito all’attacco subito da Israele ed hanno convenuto sulla necessità di rafforzare tutte le azioni di contrasto all’antisemitismo, con particolare attenzione a tutti gli episodi che compaiono sui

social media.

È stata ribadita la volontà comune di collaborare attivamente con i Coordinatori e gli Inviati speciali dei vari Paesi europei e con le principali organizzazioni internazionali di contrasto all’antisemitismo.

National Coordinator on Combating Anti-Semitism Giuseppe Pecoraro meets with his US counterpart Amb. Lipstadt at Palazzo Chigi

A meeting was held on Oct. 9 at Palazzo Chigi between Italy’s National Coordinator on Combating Anti-Semitism, Giuseppe Pecoraro, and his US counterpart, Special Envoy for Anti-Semitism Amb. Deborah Lipstadt. The meeting was also attended by the Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the Council of Ministers, Amb. Francesco Maria Talò.

In attendance were several staff members of the U.S. Special Envoy and the U.S. Embassy in Rome, as well as Counsellor Lorenzo Ortona, and Andrea Giovannelli and Carlo Santoro from the National Coordinator’s Secretariat.
Prefect Pecoraro first of all expressed to Amb. Lipstadt his full solidarity following the tragic events that have affected the Israeli people.

Both the Coordinators expressed their deepest concern for the serious situation that has arisen following the attack suffered by Israel and agreed on the need to strengthen all actions to counter anti-Semitism, with particular attention to all incidents that appear on social media.

The meeting reaffirmed the common willingness to actively cooperate with the Coordinators and Special Envoys of the various European countries and with the main international organisations countering anti-Semitism.
