The Government’s first interministerial meeting on the drought emergency, to be chaired by President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni, will be held at Palazzo Chigi on 1 March. The purpose of the meeting is to address what could prove to be an emergency situation, considering the low usage rate of the water resources that are effectively available and the need to reduce time frames for works to reduce water dispersion and to allow for basins to be cleaned.

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met today with the President of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca, and with the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, who paid a courtesy visit to Palazzo Chigi. President Meloni wished them both all the best in their work.

Two years have passed since the attack in which Italian Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo Luca Attanasio, Carabiniere Scelto Vittorio Iacovacci and World Food Programme driver Mustapha Milambo lost their lives. Remembering Luca Attanasio and Vittorio Iacovacci is not only an institutional duty, but also an act of justice and of love: towards their families and loved ones who, more than anyone else, mourn their passing and can count on the support of the institutions to learn the truth behind the tragedy; towards our nation, which proudly pays tribute to the sacrifice of those two men who served the State and were killed while fulfilling their duties; towards the future generations, so they may be inspired by Luca and Vittorio along their own personal and professional paths.
