International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women: Palazzo Chigi lit up in red
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, the Vice-Presidents and Ministers in front of Palazzo Chigi lit up in red to mark the Presidency of the Council of Ministers’ support for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, established by the United Nations General Assembly. As part of the ‘Illuminiamole’ initiative, the names of femicide victims in 2022 will also be projected onto the Palazzo Chigi façade.

Il 24 e 25 novembre la facciata principale di Palazzo Chigi si illumina con luci di colore rosso come segno dell’adesione della Presidenza del Consiglio alla “Giornata internazionale per l'eliminazione della violenza contro le donne” istituita dall’Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite. Sulla facciata principale del Palazzo sono proiettati, nell’ambito dell’iniziativa “Illuminiamole”, i nomi delle donne vittime di femminicidio nel 2022.

President Meloni meets Ronald Lauder, President of the World Jewish Congress
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met this morning with the president of the World Jewish Congress, Ronald Lauder, at Palazzo Chigi. The meeting was also attended by the president of the Union of Italian Jewish Communities (‘UCEI’), Noemi Di Segni, and the president of the Jewish Community of Rome, Ruth Dureghello. There was full agreement on the need for a strong and more effective common commitment to fight all forms of anti-Semitism, which is worryingly on the rise also through the internet and social networks. President Meloni also underlined the essential importance of Jewish communities for Italian and European identity.

President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni’s introductory address at today’s event ‘Non più sole - La drammatica attualità della violenza contro le donne’ [‘Alone no more – The dramatically topical issue of violence against women’]. The event was held in the ‘Queen’s Hall’ of the Chamber of Deputies building, ahead of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
