Il messaggio del Presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, inviato al Presidente dell'Associazione Fratelli Mattei, Giampaolo Mattei, in occasione della cerimonia di commemorazione del 50° anniversario della strage di Primavalle.

The Italian Government is following the ongoing events in Sudan with concern, and joins the calls by the UN, AU and EU for an end to the fighting in Khartoum and elsewhere, for the security of the Sudanese people and to avoid further violence. It therefore calls on the parties involved to abandon the path of weapons and to resume the long-standing negotiations, so that the Sudanese people can express their choices in an electoral process. Violence only leads to more violence.
The Italian Government is following the security situation of Italian citizens, who are invited to stay at home or in another safe place, as requested by the Italian Embassy, which remains open and operational.

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, visited the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 April 2023. Upon her arrival at the airport, she was welcomed by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali. On Friday, President Meloni met with the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, with the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed Ali, and with the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, visited Addis Ababa, in Ethiopia, on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 April 2023. Yesterday, she met with the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, with the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed Ali, and with the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. Today, after visiting the Italian School, President Meloni addressed journalists at a doorstep.
