The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
President Zelensky expressed his appreciation for the forthcoming conference on Ukraine’s reconstruction to be held in Rome on 26 April, an important opportunity to strengthen relations between Italian companies and Ukraine.
Following President Meloni’s visit to Kyiv on 21 February and her address to the Italian Parliament on 21 March ahead of the European Council meeting, the Ukrainian President expressed gratitude to Italy, recalled the Ukrainian army’s strong motivation and expressed confidence in its ability to repel Russia’s attacks in defence of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, also thanks to the assistance from Western states, including Italy. President Meloni and President Zelensky also talked about the need to pursue a “just peace”.
