G7 Summit: President Meloni meets with the Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met today with the Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida, in the margins of the G7 Summit.
Following their meeting in Japan at the beginning of the year, President Meloni and Prime Minister Kishida confirmed the progressive strengthening of bilateral relations. The intense cross-sectoral collaboration between the two nations was further expressed in concrete terms today with the adoption of a bilateral Action Plan aimed at defining the priority areas of cooperation for the 2024-2027 period.
The two Leaders also recalled next year’s important engagement in Japan, at the Osaka Expo 2025.
Lastly, the conversation covered the main issues on the international agenda, focusing particularly on the crisis in Ukraine, the situation in Gaza, cooperation with African nations and stability in the Indo-Pacific.
