Israel: President Meloni’s telephone conversation with the President of the United Arab Emirates

As part of ongoing contacts with the main international partners and key players in the region following the attack by Hamas against Israel, the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation yesterday evening with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
During the exchange of views, the utmost emphasis was placed on the need to work for a rapid de-escalation in order to avoid the conflict spreading further, and to support ongoing mediation efforts for the release of hostages.
The telephone conversation also provided an opportunity for an update on preparations for the UN Conference on Climate Change (COP28), which will be held in Dubai from 30 November to 12 December 2023.
