Meeting with the President of the Republic of Indonesia at the G20 Summit

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met today, in the margins of the second day of the G20 Summit, with the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.

The meeting focused on the mutual interest to further revitalise bilateral relations, also in view of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2024, and on cooperation in sectors such as energy transition, infrastructure and security.

The meeting was held in the context of Italy’s growing attention towards the Indo-Pacific and the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), of which Indonesia currently holds the Presidency, playing a key role in the region.
