President Meloni meets with President of the Emilia-Romagna Region Bonaccini regarding wave of severe weather

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met today with the President of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Stefano Bonaccini, at Palazzo Chigi. The meeting focused on the exceptional wave of severe weather that began to hit the provinces of Reggio-Emilia, Modena, Bologna, Ferrara, Ravenna and Forlì-Cesena on 1 May. The initial and most urgent measures were examined during the meeting, as were the actions needed to ensure help and assistance for the people affected, where necessary. An initial review of available resources was also carried out.

President Meloni gave assurance of maximum support for the people affected and the Government’s full support for the Emilia-Romagna Region and for President Bonaccini, whom the Head of the Civil Protection Department, Fabrizio Curcio, has appointed delegated commissioner for the management of the emergency, with an allocation by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of EUR 10 million.
