President Meloni’s telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of the Lebanese Republic

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the Prime Minister of the Lebanese Republic, Najib Mikati.
During the conversation President Meloni reaffirmed Italy’s willingness to continue contributing to Lebanon’s security and stability in this delicate situation.
The conversation addressed the latest developments in the region, with particular reference to the ongoing conflict in Israel. The President of the Council of Ministers called for a rapid easing of the conflict, avoiding a spill-over that would have incalculable consequences for the entire area.
The conversation was also an opportunity to discuss the migration emergency and the issue of Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
