Six NRRP steering committee sessions held today at Palazzo Chigi

10 October 2023

The last of today’s six working sessions of the steering committee for the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), called by Minister for European Affairs, Southern Italy, Cohesion Policy and the NRRP Raffaele Fitto, has been held at Palazzo Chigi. The sixth session was attended by Minister of Health Orazio Schillaci, Undersecretary of State to the Ministry of Economy and Finance Lucia Albano, Vice President of the Lombardy Region Marco Alparone, representatives from the Ministry for Regional Affairs, and President of the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces Massimiliano Fedriga.
The meeting addressed issues regarding the implementation of measures belonging to ‘Mission 6’, with particular reference to the action to be taken to deal with the rise in raw material costs. In this regard, Minister Schillaci reaffirmed that the proposed revision of the Plan did not involve any decrease in funding for Mission 6, as the cost increases may also be covered by using the non-allocated resources provided for by art. 20 for healthcare building work.
The steering committee also looked at aspects linked to the implementation of a number of ongoing projects, ahead of the technical discussions to be held with European Commission services.
The meeting came to a close with the Government undertaking to complete all measures already planned by the Ministry of Health, reiterating that there will be no cuts in funding for the mission in question.
