Telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity Dabaiba

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba.

During the call, President Meloni once again expressed her personal condolences and the solidarity of the Government and the Italian people for the flood emergency that has hit Libya’s eastern region, and in particular the city of Derna.

Prime Minister Dabaiba expressed his deep gratitude for Italy’s immediate mobilisation to help the people affected in Cyrenaica, focusing in particular on the operational units of the fire brigade, the equipment for Italian Red Cross workers and the field tents being delivered.

President Meloni assured full readiness to continue with rescue and aid work.
