Weather emergency: President Meloni in video conference with Civil Protection Operations Committee

President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni is constantly following developments regarding the weather emergency affecting the Emilia Romagna Region. Earlier today, she attended a meeting of the Civil Protection Department’s operations committee via video link from Anchorage, in Alaska (where she was on a technical stopover on her way to the G7 in Hiroshima, Japan). The meeting was also attended by Minister for Civil Protection and Marine Policies Nello Musumeci, President of the Emilia Romagna Region Stefano Bonaccini and Head of the Civil Protection Department Fabrizio Curcio, who updated President Meloni on the weather situation and the critical issues that remain in the area. During the video conference, President Meloni stated her immediate readiness to call a Council of Ministers meeting to approve further emergency measures, should this be necessary: “The Government is supporting the people affected and the local institutions” stressed President Meloni.
