President Meloni’s statement on anniversary of the Fosse Ardeatine massacre

Today, Italy honours the victims of the Fosse Ardeatine massacre. Seventy-nine years ago, 335 Italians were barbarically slaughtered by occupying Nazi troops in retaliation for the Via Rasella attack by partisans in Rome. The massacre marked one of the deepest and most painful wounds ever inflicted on our national community.

President Meloni’s call with Prime Minister Morawiecki of the Republic of Poland

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, is continuing her intensive exchanges with other European leaders in preparation for the European Council meeting of 23-24 March, following the calls with German Federal Chancellor Scholz, Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis and President of the European Commission von der Leyen.
Ahead of the European Council meeting, which will begin in Brussels tomorrow morning, President Meloni had a telephone conversation today with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki.

President Meloni’s statement on ‘Pact for senior citizens’

The ‘Pact for senior citizens’ lays the foundations for a structural reform of policies in support of the elderly and against their marginalisation and loneliness. Parliament’s definitive approval of the draft enabling law is an extremely important result and I wish to thank all political parties, the third sector, the trade unions and the professions of reference that offered their contribution during the parliamentary examination phase, allowing for the initial text to be improved. Senior citizens represent the very heart of society and taking care of them means taking care of us all.
