I welcome with great interest French President Emmanuel Macron’s proposal for cooperation on the fight against illegal immigration. It is clear that Italy, France and the EU must act together to support migrants’ states of origin and to help states of transit dismantle criminal networks of human traffickers. This is the direction the Italian Government has already taken and wants to pursue together with European institutions and its European allies.

È evidente che Italia, Francia e Ue debbano agire insieme per sostenere gli Stati di origine dei migranti e per aiutare gli Stati di transito a smantellare le reti criminali di trafficanti di esseri umani. È la direzione che il governo italiano ha già intrapreso e che vuole perseguire insieme alle istituzioni europee e ai propri alleati europei.
