President Meloni visits Iraq
President Meloni visited Iraq today. In Baghdad, after greeting Italian embassy staff and military personnel from the I “Tuscania” Regiment and XIII “Friuli Venezia Giulia” Regiment of the Carabinieri, she met with the personnel of the Italian military contingent at the ‘Union III’ military base. President Meloni then met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani. In Erbil, she visited the Camp Singara military base.

President Meloni attends European Council meeting
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, attended today’s European Council meeting in Brussels. This morning, upon her arrival at the Europa building, she addressed journalists at a doorstep. In the margins of the meeting, she met with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and with Prime Minister Petr Fiala and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. This evening, Minister Raffaele Fitto addressed journalists in the margins of the meeting.

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met today with the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in the margins of the European Council meeting. The cordial meeting confirmed the close cooperation between Italy and Greece on the main issues at the centre of the European and international agenda, with particular focus on stability and growth opportunities in the Mediterranean. Common interest therefore emerged in further strengthening relations between Rome and Athens, also at bilateral level.
