Il Presidente Meloni incontra il Segretario generale della Cisl, Luigi Sbarra
Il Presidente del Consiglio dei Ministri, Giorgia Meloni, ha ricevuto questa mattina a Palazzo Chigi il Segretario generale della Cisl, Luigi Sbarra, il quale le ha consegnato la proposta di legge popolare sulla partecipazione e la democrazia economica, già depositata stamane presso la Corte di Cassazione.

President Meloni meets with International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, together with the Minister for Sport, Andrea Abodi, met today with the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, at Palazzo Chigi. The meeting was also attended by the President of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), Giovanni Malagò, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation, Andrea Varnier.

President Meloni meets with CISL Secretary-General Luigi Sbarra
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, received the Secretary General of trade union organisation CISL, Luigi Sbarra, at Palazzo Chigi this morning, who presented her with a bill of popular initiative on participation and economic democracy, already filed with the Italian Court of Cassation earlier today.

Sequestro di cocaina a Venezia, la nota di Palazzo Chigi
Il Presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, e il Ministro dell’Economia e delle Finanze, Giancarlo Giorgetti, esprimono apprezzamento per il maxi sequestro di cocaina avvenuto oggi a Venezia.
“Siamo orgogliosi di questa operazione della Guardia di Finanza che a distanza di pochi giorni ha eseguito un altro sequestro importante di droga: dopo i 2000 chilogrammi del canale di Sicilia, oggi a Venezia sono stati sequestrati altri 850 chilogrammi di cocaina. Un successo per le donne e gli uomini della Guardia di Finanza ai quali vanno i nostri complimenti e la dimostrazione che il governo sulla lotta alla droga fa sul serio e continuerà sulla strada della tolleranza zero”

Minister Fitto meets with Dutch Minister van der Burg
The Minister for European Affairs, Southern Italy, Cohesion Policy and the NRRP, Raffaele Fitto, met today with the Minister for Migration of the Netherlands, Eric van der Burg.
First of all, the two ministers recalled the recent meeting between President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni and Prime Minister Mark Rutte in Rome, underlining the excellent level of cooperation between the two countries at European level.

Statement by Palazzo Chigi on Venice cocaine seizure
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, and the Minister of Economy and Finance, Giancarlo Giorgetti, express their appreciation for today’s large seizure of cocaine in Venice.
“We are proud of this operation by the Guardia di Finanza [Italian Finance Police], which has made a second significant drugs seizure in a matter of days: after the 2,000-kilogram haul in the Sicilian channel, another 850 kilograms of cocaine have been seized in Venice today. A success for the men and women of the Guardia di Finanza, whom we congratulate, and a demonstration that the Government is serious about fighting drugs and will continue on the path of zero tolerance”.

Minister Fitto meets with Hungarian Minister Varga
The Minister for European Affairs, Southern Italy, Cohesion Policy and the NRRP, Raffaele Fitto, met today with the Hungarian Minister of Justice and European Affairs, Judit Varga, in Rome.
The meeting focused on the main issues currently on the European agenda, with particular regard to Ukraine, energy security, the reform of the European Union’s economic governance, migration and enlargement. The meeting also provided the opportunity for an initial exchange of views on the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2024.

Fitto ha incontrato il Ministro dei Paesi Bassi van der Burg
Il Ministro per gli Affari europei, il Sud, le politiche di coesione e il PNRR, Raffaele Fitto, ha incontrato oggi a Roma il Ministro per la migrazione dei Paesi Bassi, Eric van der Burg.
I due ministri hanno in primo luogo evocato il recente incontro a Roma fra il Presidente del Consiglio Meloni e il Primo Ministro Mark Rutte, sottolineando l'eccellente livello di collaborazione fra i due Paesi a livello europeo. Hanno poi avuto un approfondito scambio di vedute sulle tematiche migratorie e sulla politica dell’Unione europea in materia, con particolare riguardo al tema della dimensione esterna. In questo contesto, Fitto e van der Burg hanno concordato sulla necessità di dare pieno seguito alle Conclusioni del Consiglio europeo di febbraio.

Meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Burundi
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met today with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Burundi, Gervais Ndirakobuca, at Palazzo Chigi. The meeting focused on the strengthening of bilateral relations, stabilisation of the Great Lakes region and Italy’s commitment, also in the European context, to the African continent.
