President Meloni meets with Prime Minister Sunak of the United Kingdom in India
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a long and cordial meeting today with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak. The meeting focused on preparations for the G20 Summit to be held tomorrow and Sunday, on the priority of continued support for Ukraine with a commitment to provide security guarantees, and on the urgent need to ensure an effective, global response to the major challenges of our societies, including artificial intelligence. The two Heads of Government also agreed on the need to look upon the joint efforts necessary for Africa’s development as a shared opportunity, also with respect to inhumane human trafficking that exploits migration flows.

Incontro con il Primo Ministro del Regno Unito Sunak in India
Il Presidente Meloni ha avuto oggi un lungo e cordiale incontro con il Primo Ministro del Regno Unito, Rishi Sunak, incentrato sulla preparazione del Vertice G20 di domani e dopodomani, sulla priorità del continuo sostegno all’Ucraina con l’impegno a fornire garanzie di sicurezza e sull’urgenza di assicurare una risposta efficace e globale alle principali sfide delle nostre società, compresa quella dell’intelligenza artificiale. I due Capi di Governo hanno inoltre concordato sull’esigenza di guardare agli sforzi congiunti necessari allo sviluppo dell’Africa come un’opportunità condivisa, anche rispetto al disumano traffico di persone che specula sui flussi migratori.

Concessioni demaniali marittime, lacuali e fluviali - quarta riunione del Tavolo tecnico
Si è svolta questa mattina a Palazzo Chigi la quarta riunione del Tavolo tecnico consultivo in materia di concessioni demaniali marittime, lacuali e fluviali, istituito ai sensi del decreto-legge 198 del 2022. Vi hanno preso parte i rappresentanti dei ministeri competenti, delle regioni, delle associazioni di categoria del settore.

Council of Ministers meeting no. 49 was held today at Palazzo Chigi. In the afternoon, President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni, Undersecretary of State to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Alfredo Mantovano, Minister for European Affairs, Southern Italy, Cohesion Policy and the NRRP Raffaele Fitto, Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio, Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi, Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara, Minister for the Family, Birth Rate and Equal Opportunities Eugenia Maria Roccella, Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi and Minister of the Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto Fratin held a press conference to illustrate the measures adopted.

Foibe massacres and Istria–Rijeka-Dalmatia exodus: meeting of coordination committee for remembrance day commemorations
The inaugural meeting of the committee in charge of coordinating commemorations of the day of remembrance for the victims of the Foibe massacres and the exodus from Istria, Rijeka and Dalmatia was held at Palazzo Chigi today, in the presence of Undersecretary of State to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Alfredo Mantovano. During his opening remarks, Undersecretary of State Mantovano underlined President Meloni’s special attention and awareness and the Government’s intention, through the Committee, to enhance synergy and coordination between all State authorities and the world of associations that are committed to preserving the memory and increasing knowledge of the tragic Foibe massacres and exodus.

Si è svolta oggi a Palazzo Chigi la quinta riunione congiunta del Tavolo istituzionale e della Cabina di Coordinamento Giubileo 2025, presieduta dal sottosegretario alla Presidenza del Consiglio, Alfredo Mantovano, che in apertura di riunione ha precisato che l’attività dei vari gruppi tematici, che curano l’organizzazione dell’evento, è proseguita durante tutto il mese di agosto.

Fifth joint meeting of institutional working group and coordination committee for the Jubilee 2025
The fifth joint meeting of the institutional working group and the coordination committee for the Jubilee of 2025 was held today at Palazzo Chigi, chaired by Undersecretary of State to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Alfredo Mantovano. Opening the meeting, Undersecretary of State Mantovano pointed out that the various thematic groups in charge of organising the event had continued to work throughout the month of August. The Mayor of Rome and Special Commissioner for the Jubilee 2025, Roberto Gualtieri, then took the floor and informed attendees about the progress of works projects and activities relating to hospitality services.

Il Presidente Giorgia Meloni ha incontrato oggi a Palazzo Chigi il fondatore di LinkedIn, Reid Hoffman, divenuto uno dei massimi esperti a livello globale dello sviluppo dell’Intelligenza Artificiale. L’incontro ha riguardato le opportunità e i rischi dell'Intelligenza Artificiale, tema che viene affrontato in ambito multilaterale e che sarà centrale nella Presidenza del G7 che l’Italia svolgerà l’anno prossimo.
