Statement by Palazzo Chigi on the hurricane in Libya
President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni has learned with deep sadness of the extensive damage wreaked by Hurricane Daniel after it hit eastern Libya, causing death, injury and destruction. Italy expresses its sympathy and solidarity with the families of the victims and the Libyan people, and has activated its Civil Protection Department to provide the best possible assistance to Libya which has been affected by this emergency.

Telephone conversation with Marshal Khalifa Haftar
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with Marshal Khalifa Haftar. During the call, President Meloni once again expressed her personal condolences and the solidarity of the Government and the Italian people for the flood emergency that has hit Libya’s eastern region, and in particular the city of Derna. Marshal Haftar expressed his deep gratitude for Italy’s immediate mobilisation to help the people affected, focusing in particular on the operational units of the fire brigade, the equipment for Italian Red Cross workers and the field tents being delivered. President Meloni assured full readiness to continue with rescue and aid work.

Il Presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, ha appreso con dolore degli ingenti danni causati dall'uragano Daniel che ha colpito la parte est della Libia causando morte, feriti e distruzione. L’Italia esprime tutta la sua vicinanza e solidarietà ai familiari delle vittime e al popolo libico e ha attivato la Protezione civile per poter assistere nel migliore dei modi la Libia colpita da questa emergenza.

Telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity Dabaiba
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba. During the call, President Meloni once again expressed her personal condolences and the solidarity of the Government and the Italian people for the flood emergency that has hit Libya’s eastern region, and in particular the city of Derna.

Visita del Presidente Meloni in Qatar
In occasione della sua visita nello Stato del Qatar, il Presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, accompagnato dal Ministro Giancarlo Giorgetti, ha incontrato ieri l’Emiro del Qatar Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani con cui ha avuto approfonditi colloqui che si sono conclusi con una cena ufficiale. L’incontro è stato l’occasione per rinsaldare le eccellenti relazioni bilaterali e il rapporto personale con il Capo dello Stato del Qatar.

President Meloni visits Qatar
During her visit to the State of Qatar, President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni, accompanied by Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti, met with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, with whom she had in-depth discussions that ended with an official dinner. The meeting was an opportunity to strengthen the excellent bilateral relations and the personal relationship with the Head of the State of Qatar.

Bilateral meeting with the President of the Republic of Korea at the G20 Summit
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a meeting today with the President of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, in the margins of the G20 Summit in New Delhi. The meeting allowed for an exchange of views on the central themes of the G20 and the main international issues, starting with the common commitment to support Ukraine and stability in the Indo-Pacific.

Meeting with the President of the Republic of Indonesia at the G20 Summit
The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met today, in the margins of the second day of the G20 Summit, with the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. The meeting focused on the mutual interest to further revitalise bilateral relations, also in view of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2024, and on cooperation in sectors such as energy transition, infrastructure and security.
