A steering committee meeting for the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (‘NRRP’) was held today, in the presence of the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, the Minister for European Affairs, Southern Italy, Cohesion Policy and the NRRP, Raffaele Fitto, and all other relevant ministers. The managing directors of Enel, Eni, Snam and Terna, Italy’s main energy and electricity sector operators, also attended the meeting.

A steering committee meeting for the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (‘NRRP’) was held today to begin discussions on the new chapter to be included in the NRRP relating to REPowerEU, the European plan to address the global energy market difficulties caused by the war in Ukraine. The meeting was held in the presence of the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, the Minister for European Affairs, Southern Italy, Cohesion Policy and the NRRP, Raffaele Fitto, and all other relevant ministers. The managing directors of Enel, Eni, Snam and Terna, Italy’s main energy and electricity sector operators, also attended the meeting. 

L’articolo apparso oggi sul quotidiano La Stampa nel quale si sostiene che io vorrei “insegnare a sparare nelle scuole” è ridicolo e infondato. La chiacchierata tra me e il generale Federici, consigliere militare del Presidente Meloni, che il giornalista de La Stampa crede di aver carpito come uno scoop verteva su tutt’altro. La necessità di fornire maggiori risorse per l’addestramento di Forze Armate e Forze di Polizia e oltre a ciò l’ipotesi di prevedere un canale privilegiato di assunzione in questi Corpi dello Stato per gli atleti di discipline sportive reputate attinenti, anche se non olimpiche, quali paracadutismo, alpinismo e discipline di tiro. Due misure alle quali lavoreremo al più presto.

Following her meetings in Stockholm and Berlin on 3 February, President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni had a series of telephone conversations today, with President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron, with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, with Austrian Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer and with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, ahead of the special European Council meeting to be held on 9-10 February. The exchanges of views focused on the priority of a concrete sign from the European Council on full and comprehensive support for Ukraine, and on EU solutions to support the competitiveness of enterprises and to finally have European management of migration flows, centred on the external dimension and border control.
