Third EU-CELAC Summit

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, attended the third EU-CELAC summit in Brussels. In the margins of the summit, President Meloni had bilateral meetings with the President of the Argentine Republic, Alberto Ángel Fernández, and with the President of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle Pou. Yesterday evening, she met with the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg.

New NRRP steering committee meeting held at Palazzo Chigi. Minister Fitto: fruitful dialogue, we are working on the Plan’s overall definition

A fruitful first day of discussions was held today with employers’ associations, who were invited to a National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) steering committee meeting at Palazzo Chigi, chaired by Minister for European Affairs, Southern Italy, Cohesion Policy and the NRRP Raffaele Fitto. The discussions were divided into sector-specific sessions, with the first being attended by representatives of Confindustria, Ance, Confedilizia, Abi and Ania; the second by representatives of Coldiretti, Confagricoltura, Cia, Unsic and Copagri; and, the third by representatives of Federterziario, Confetra, Confeservizi, Confprofessioni and Assoprofessioni.

Russia’s decision to suspend the grain agreement is further proof of who is a friend of the poorest countries and who is their enemy. The leaders of those nations that do not want to distinguish between the country under attack and the attacker should reflect. Weaponising the raw material that feeds the world is another outrage against humanity.

President Meloni, President von der Leyen and Prime Minister Rutte in Tunisia

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, together with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, met with the President of the Republic of Tunisia, Kais Saied, in Tunis today. During the meeting, the EU-Tunisia Memorandum of Understanding was signed and, afterwards, the leaders issued joint statements to the press.

Launch of the Rome-Pompei Frecciarossa rail link

President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni, together with Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano, participated in this morning’s maiden journey of the Rome-Pompei Frecciarossa, the new direct rail link created thanks to the collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane [Italian state railway company].  President Meloni addressed journalists both upon her arrival in Pompei and following the visit to the archaeological site.
